Timings for Grants

Once a year the Council the Council considers requests for grant assistance from organisations within the Parish.

 timings for grant submissions:-

February -  Grant request form for current year placed on website and available from the parish office

October - completed grant request to be submitted together with an up to date copy of accounts

November - Clerk verifies  requests and submits recommendations to Precept Meeting

November - Precept meeting - consideration/approval  of grant budget

April - Part of precept received and approved grants paid.

CONSIDERATION OF GRANT REQUESTS FOR 2015/16.

 

St Agnes Junior Netball Club

With still nowhere to rent in the local area, cost of renting in Truro is £750 per month and having qualified for the regional league the cost of 8 away fixtures at £300 per time (£2400)

Amount requested £2500

Amount to be met from own resources - £6000

Power to give under LGA 1972 s137

It was resolved to grant the sum of £2500 as requested, but members noted that this was not sustainable and asked for the Clerk to write to the Junior Netball Club to request that a more maintainable solution is found for next year.

The request for a recorded vote for each decision was also noted.

 Agnes Netball Club (Seniors)

To purchase kit and equipment.

After consideration of the information provided by the Senior Netball Club, it was decided that the grant request would not be supported as the Club was agreed to be already sustainable and could meet this small amount of expenditure themselves.

Blackwater Village Trust

Requesting funding to progress the Blackwater Playing Field project.  The erection of 2 gates to stop prevent access by loose dogs and the erection of dog fouling notices. The repair to boundary hedges

Amount to be met from own resources £500

Power to give under Open Spaces Act 1906, ss. 9 and 10

It was unanimously resolved to defer the decision regarding this grant request until such time as more information had been received. Cllrs Forbes/Lovering.

 

Mount Hawke and Porthtowan Cricket Club

Installation of permanent vermin proofing to protect the newly installed bay net systems.

Amount requested £1200

Amount to be met by own resources £500

Power to give LGA Miscellaneous Provision Act 1976

Members resolved to grant the sum of £1200 as requested. Cllrs Drew/Davies.
